Along with the reorganization of physical culture the Football Association of Slovenia was restored in May of 1948. In that year, the first education of football instructors took place in August, which means that Football Coaches Association of Slovenia (FCAS) is celebrating the 62nd anniversary of the first coach training.

For the times between 1948 and 1967 there is no available documentation about the education of coaches, as some of it got burnt and some of it got lost.  In 1952/53 the High school for physical culture in Ljubljana organized the first class for football coaches. At the end of the class, 19 participants founded the Football Coaches Association of Slovenia, which entered FA Slovenia as a collective member. Education of football coaches was later led by School centre for Physical Education, folowed by Higher school of physical culture and now Football Association of Slovenia.

The evolution of the football game brought with it a bigger physical strain on players, induction of new club and national team competitions and different organizational forms. Naturally, the evolution meant that some changes needed to be made with the education of football coaches. With UEFA active in the field, the minimum programme for education of UEFA B, UEFA A and UEFA PRO was agreed. Football Association of Slovenia embraced UEFA's system and added some country specific requirements, which UEFA accepted into the programme. On the 19th of June 2000, Slovenia and UEFA signed a protocol, acknowledging professional education and licenses for the UEFA A and UEFA B level, and on 8th of November 2002 the UEFA PRO level.

With the UEFA Coaches convention Slovenian coaches can now use their coaching license in any country that has signed the mentioned protocol.

In 2009, FA Slovenia and FCAS organized 10 licensed seminars (1 for PRO, 1 for A and 8 for B and C), issuing 1224 licenses. In the same year the FA Slovenia carried out 4 classes for proffesional title »Coach C« and one class for »UEFA B« and »Coach PRO« each.
